What is FedEx Scam
A new Kind of FedEx scam is going on, in the name of FedEx Delivery. So what happens is, you get a call from someone pretending to be a FedEx employee and they will confirm your details like your name, email id, and location sometimes maybe aadhar card. They will say there is a parcel in your name which is caught on customs and it has some unauthorized material like passports, credit cards and we have just informed this police station. Either you come to the police station, and the police station won’t be near you. If you are from Delhi it will be Andheri police station if you are from Mumbai the station will be Delhi.
You will panic after receiving such call and that’s what the scammer wants. They will ask you for a Skype call. (FedEx employees don’t have enough time to Skype call one to one for their packages). They will ask you for some money to let go of the matter.
How to avoid scams like this?
Whenever you receive a call like this, stay calm, why would you panic if you know you haven’t done anything wrong,
Second start Call Recording. Don’t share any details and disconnect the call.
Check the mobile no. if it belongs to Fedex or any company the hacker is pretending to be the employee.
