Once upon a time in the bustling city of Mumbai, there was a software company called “TechieTrek.” The company was famous for its cutting-edge technology and, well, its eccentric senior manager, Raju Sir.
Raju Sir had been working at TechieTrek since the dawn of the digital age. He was a living legend, known for his peculiar habits, such as wearing mismatched socks, eating bananas with a fork, and insisting that everyone address him as “Raju Sir” even though his real name was Ramesh. But what truly set Raju Sir apart was his unwavering dedication to work, even in his ripe old age.
Despite being well past retirement age, Raju Sir refused to let go of his beloved job. He would show up at the office bright and early, wearing his signature neon green tie and oversized glasses. He couldn’t operate a computer to save his life, but that didn’t stop him from giving orders.
One sunny Friday afternoon, the office was buzzing with excitement as the weekend approached. The younger employees were looking forward to two days of rest and relaxation, but Raju Sir had other plans.
Raju Sir: (pointing at a group of juniors) “You there! Why are you all still sitting around? We have a project deadline to meet! No holidays for us!”
Junior 1: (whispering to Junior 2) “Does he even know it’s Friday?”
Junior 2: “I’m not sure, but I think he believes every day is a Monday.”
Raju Sir: (overhearing them) “I heard that! No chit-chatting during work hours!”
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Raju Sir’s obsession with work only intensified. He began sending emails at 2 AM, scheduling meetings on Sundays, and even called employees during their holidays.
Junior 3: (answering a phone call from Raju Sir while on vacation) “Hello?”
Raju Sir: “Why are you not at your desk? We have an emergency! Get back to work immediately!”
Junior 3: “But, Raju Sir, I’m on my honeymoon in Goa!”
Raju Sir: “Honeymoon? Nonsense! Work comes first!”
Word spread quickly, and the juniors started to dread the weekends and holidays. They would hide their vacation plans and pretend to be in the office even when they weren’t.
Junior 4: (sending a fake email from the office during a family gathering) “There, now he thinks I’m working on a Saturday night.”
But as time passed, Raju Sir’s antics became a source of amusement for the younger generation. They decided to turn the tables on him.
One Monday, they devised a plan to prank Raju Sir. They hired an actor to pose as a client, asking for a meeting on a Sunday.
Actor: (posing as client) “Raju Sir, we need an urgent meeting on Sunday to discuss the project.”
Raju Sir: “Excellent! I knew our dedication would impress the clients!”
On Sunday, Raju Sir arrived at the office, looking triumphant. But when he entered the conference room, he found a surprise waiting for him. The room was decorated like a birthday party, complete with balloons, cake, and a banner that read “Happy Retirement, Raju Sir!”
Raju Sir: (speechless) “What is going on here?”
Junior 5: “Raju Sir, it’s time for you to enjoy your weekends and holidays just like the rest of us!”
Raju Sir: (teary-eyed) “I… I never realized how much I missed out on. Thank you, everyone!”
From that day forward, Raju Sir finally embraced retirement and spent his weekends and holidays enjoying life outside the office. The juniors learned that even the most work-obsessed seniors could be persuaded to relax, with a little creativity and a lot of balloons.
And so, the legend of Raju Sir continued, but this time as a retired eccentric with a penchant for banana-flavored ice cream and mismatched flip-flops on the beach.
